A Day in Manhattan

Spent the day in Manhattan today. Got a taste of NYC Mass Transit taking the bus and subway. I am such an out-of-towner. It took a bit to figure it all out, but I think I got it down now.

Rode on the 7 train into Manhattan. You might remember how former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker made this train famous as part of some inflaming derogatory made towards New Yorkers while being interviewed for Sports Illustrated.

Made it to the B&H Photo. I have wanted to go to this store for several years now. If you are into photography at all, this is a store you must visit. They have everything and more related to photography. I got to try out the next lens on my purchase list. It is the Canon 85 f1.8. Check out the pic of Barbara (noticed the blurred background -it's called Bokeh). It is a great portrait lens and for events in low light. Perfect for church activities.

After visiting B&H we walked down the street a way to the Macy's flagship store. I went and sat in Starbucks for an hour while Barbara shopped. I figured that since she went with me to B&H it was the least I could do to let her go to Macy's.

Lunch at the Metro Cafe. Then to Eddie Bauer. Finished with a stop at the Mac Store. Back on the subway to Grandma's house.
